The UK Daily Pundit: Boris the Buffoon Strikes Again

This sort of thing p****s me off. By all means attack a man for what he says or does. Politics is a contact sport. But don't attack him for the things he has no control over, like where he went to school.

Boris is in politics for laudable motives of public service. I think this post was unworthily snide and have had a good rant in the comments.

Spot on, TP. Well said. Of course Boris gets up the noses of the bitter & twisted, the envious and the very dim. As well as being a quite brilliant writer and political analyst, he has the clearest liberal (sic) mind and the most sensitive bullshit detector I have come across in years. His honesty and lack of hubris are like a cold shower in a heatwave. If he makes a cock-up, his cheerful grimace is the very opposite of arrogance; he shows the courage of his convictions - not something one is much used to with modern politicians. He knows damn well he'd be a liability on the front bench and I very much doubt that the Olympian peak figures even in his most drunken dreams. On its lower slopes, however, he is a treasure - a valuable MP whether as a junior minister or on the back benches. Oh, for more like him.

I liked what you said about the bastard Crossman, too. What a very nasty man he was, kicking out the ladder from under the children of the lower orders (of whom, like you, I am one), reducing all to the level of the least able and putting an end to social mobility and to all hope of escape from the ghetto. We are living with the appalling consequences of his brainchild - a child which, like its evil father, should have been strangled at birth. The man deserves a circle of Hell to himself.

Sorry - typo. Crosland, not Crossman.
